So I'm gonna be showing you how to work on the glutes or often referred to as the buttocks. I've selected two different kinds of stones. One's palm size and one's a little bit bigger in case I need a little more deeper pressure.
So I'm going to start with this one. You can see we've got nice amount of oil. I'm actually gonna start at the base of the leg, work my way up, just to get the tissue expecting me. Get the muscle prepared. Do a couple of nice circular motions with that hot stone in one hand. You can use two stones in the hand as well. Or you can really access in there some deep tissue.
And go ahead and lift the leg up here and you're gonna sink right down in there. And you'll find there often some trigger points in that area. You can work those out quite nicely with the stone. You can rotate the stone just a little bit. You're gonna want to work with a stone that is a little bit lighter temperature for this. Maybe about 135 degrees. This can be an area that's a little more sensitive to heat than, say, the back.
And do a couple more passovers. You can switch your stone. This one starts getting cold, use the next. This a broader based stone so you're gonna cover more of that area. When the stones are smaller you can typically actually access deeper areas of the muscle because you get a sharper edge to the stone. When it's larger and broader like this you're gonna cover more area and not go quite as deeply.
So as always, you're gonna want to communicate with your client. Find out what their needs are and what they want. And that way you'll be able to give them the best hot stone massage they've ever had.
