To become a hot stone massage therapist, first you're going to want to check into your state to figure out what your requirements are for that state. So each state has different requirements for you becoming a massage therapist in the first place. Some you have to take a 200-hour educational course, and some 1,000.

So that's your very first foot, getting your foot in the door becoming a massage therapist. Once you're a massage therapist, it can actually be quite simple to become a hot stone massage therapist. At first, if you're just curious and you want to check into seeing if it's something that you like doing at all, you can go ahead and get one of the instructional DVDs and look at that, or you can watch some of the videos online.

If you do want to take it to the next level and really figure out how to be an amazing hot stone massage therapist, I highly recommend that you contact someone who teaches continuing education courses for hot stone massage. You can do that just by Googling "continuing education massage therapy classes" or "CE massage therapy classes". That will typically take you to the sites that list all of the different providers.

But at the end of the day, I always think it's a good idea to work with someone who has been highly recommended by someone you trust.
