So, now I'm going to be showing you some techniques for hot stone massage on the legs. Use my palm sized stone that I covered in oil. We're going to do so nice effleurage all the way up the leg, and around the hip joint. Go ahead and massage that thigh area first, using both stones.
You can overlap your hands. You want to keep them moving, because they're nice and warm. You don't want to hold them in one spot too long, typically, until they cool off just a little bit. They do get hot, and you can just flip them in your hands really quickly, and keep going. The nice thing is, you don't have to apply too much pressure with hot stone massage, because the heat is doing a lot of the work for you. When you get down here into the calf area, you can actually use the edge of the stones, to follow along those gastrocnemius muscles.
Go around the edges. You want to be careful not to go deep in the back of the knee. The rest of it, go ahead and go nice and deeply. You can separate those gastrocnemius muscles with the edge of those two stones, and then just use them nice and flat, to apply even pressure. And I like to always complete the leg massage with one nice, last long...
