People often ask at what age do I start to thin or will I experience my baldness and when will it stop. Those are good questions but unfortunately there's not a great answer. For men, generally, the hair loss will start in the 20's or 30's. In woman it typically starts 10 years later, in the 30's and 40's. However, we see woman that are younger that have the hair loss; we also see man that start hair loss much later in life. A good example of that would be Johnny Carson, he had hair fall for a long time. Genetically speaking it seemed like he had hair loss later on in life. So there is no necessarily safe zone although if you see a hair loss expert we can typically evaluate your pattern, identify areas of miniaturization and see likely what the extent of your baldness is going to be and than we can treat it appropriately. Remember that the earlier that you intervene and the earlier that you get the treatment, the better you will respond to therapy.
