People ask about causes of hair shedding and how much hair shedding is okay all the time. It's important to keep in mind that it's natural to shed your hair; as a matter of fact, you lose 100 to 150 hairs a day, that's normal, that's natural. When it exceeds it that's when you want to look for a cause. Hair shedding is most commonly in two different forms, from a medical standpoint there is telogen effluvium and anogen effluvium. Telogen effluvium is that when you lose the resting hairs; anogen effluvium is when you lose growing hairs. There are many causes for these types of hair loss and it's important to go to a health care adviser or a transplant surgeon to get the right information. Often the shedding follows stressful events such as crash diets or medication that you are taking that cause shedding or hair loss. It's often temporary and you get your hair back. Again, i's important to get the proper evaluation and diagnosis so you know what treatment you need for your hair loss.
