The way I address breaking a video game addiction is that I approach it like I approach other behavioral addictions. Behavioral addictions are different than substance abuse addictions because in substance abuse addictions, you can abstain from using the drug or taking in the alcohol. Behavioral addictions are different. So what we need to do is, we need to put some boundaries around use. We need to contain the use so it's not having a negative impact in your life. So the first way to do this is to become very mindful of the amount of time you're spending on your video game use.
