So I'm going to be showing you a couple of techniques that you can use for a deep tissue massage with your fingers. And one of the things that you want to be aware of is that you don't have to use your fingers where it tires you out at all. So see how I'm putting one hand over the other? This is actually a really great technique to get into the intercostals. So at first down here underneath the ribs I do one motion with my fingers together. Once you get down into the intercostals, you sort of let your fingers just sink in between the ribs. You don't have to push your will on that rib cage. You just let your fingers fall right in between those ribs. And it feels really great. The intercostal muscles can actually get bound up in that rib cage. And it needs it. It's something that's not often accessed. So we're going to do a little squeeze of the shoulder here. And then I’m going to show you how you can do; you can use your fingers to do a little bit of cross fiber friction right along the erector spinae, or the erectors. So the grain of the muscle runs along the spine. I'm going the opposite direction. You'll see I'm using my fingers all together as one unit. This way I don't have to use the strength of my fingers. I can actually use the strength of my body to deliver this pressure. Again, you just want to stay away from the spine. And that is how you use your fingers for a deep tissue massage.
