Now I'm going to be showing you some compression techniques, and we're going to do this through the sheet. You're going to want to make sure that you avoid the spine and any bony processes. If your hand naturally falls into the tissue, that's where you want it to be.
We're going to start down here, bottom of the back. Do some compressions. You can actually use both hands at a time. One place that this feels really great is right here in the glute. You can actually use a fist there as well. This is the largest muscles in the body, and it supports the body while it's standing and sitting and everything else that you do.
It also feels really good right there at the base. When I do this you'll notice I'm using the palm of my hand, the base of my hand. That feels much better than if you were to be trying to do this with your fingers. We'll go ahead and do over here on this side, so you can see a little bit better.
Now you wouldn't want to push directly into the knee either, the back of the knee. You want to make sure you stay in all of those nice, meaty areas of the muscle. So again there's right in the center of that glute. There are a lot of people that actually don't think about having their glutes massaged, but it's a really important area.
You're going to want to be a little bit more gentle up here in the area, because it's a little bonier. That is how you do a compression massage.
