How to Run in Hot Weather

So it's getting hot out, but you want to make sure that you're still able to get your run in. There are some things that you can do to make the run a little bit more enjoyable. Try to run early in the morning or later in the day, before the sun is at its peak. Usually between the hours of 10 and 2, are when you want to avoid going for your run. Also, if you do have to be in the sun try to wear a hat or a visor, to keep the sun out of your face, maybe some sunglasses. Try to bring a bottle of water so that you're well hydrated. You can wear some Dri-FIT wicking material clothing to help keep your body cool.

The Dri-FIT clothing will help pull the sweat away from your body, so that your body can cool off and breathe a little bit better. Try to avoid cotton socks. What happens with cotton socks is when your feet sweat, you're holding the moisture with the cotton and it's causing an environment for chafing and blisters. So try to avoid cotton socks. Go for Dri-FIT socks, and make sure you're wearing sunblock. Also, if you have a gym membership or if have a gym nearby try to get inside with a little bit of air conditioner and try to use the treadmill. Anything that you can do to make sure that you stay on your schedule and stay successful with your running.
