Hi. I'm Karl Romain demonstrating the 18 Tactics. This tactic is called Twisting a Strand of Silk. And again, this is another Chin Nah technique. Remember chin means to seize, nah means to control. This is a joint locking technique.
Now we are going to do a cross wrist grab. This means he is going to grab across. So his right hand to my right hand. Notice where his thumb is. From here, I'm going to counter grab and, as I counter grab, I'm going to bring my hand up. I'm also going to step back and turn causing him to not just lean forward, but additionally making him want to pull me back in. As he pulls me in, I'm going to circle my hand around his wrist. As I do that, notice his arm bending. And now I'm going to drive him to the ground as I pull up on his hand. Let's demonstrate a little faster.
Now I'll do it from a different angle. He grabs. I counter grab, controlling his fingers and his hand. I bring it up toward the ceiling, I step back and turn. As he pulls me in, I follow him in. I'm going to circle my hand and bring it down toward the ground. Try it one more time, full speed.
I'm Karl Romain demonstrating the 18 Tactics and that was Twisting a Strand of Silk.
