I'm not Caucasian. Do I need to worry about skin cancer? The answer is yes.
Non-Caucasians are much less likely to get skin cancer compared to Caucasians, but there are certain things you need to pay attention to, specifically, cancers of the nail bed and the nail. Cancers that involve the palms and soles tend to be a little bit more common in non-Caucasians than Caucasians.
So if you notice a dark band of your nail or new spots on your palms and soles, it's important to see a dermatologist as a biopsy may be needed to determine whether you have skin cancer or not.
