You've quilted your quilt, now what? Now comes the point where you want to trim the edges. You want to have a nice straight edge to put the binding on. Here's where a 12 inch square ruler comes in really handy. You're going to line it up to the corner, slice the edge, top and bottom. You can switch it and go to the next corner.
You want to make sure that you have batting right up to the edge of your quilt. You don't want to have any spaces where there is no batting because then you have an uneven and lumpy quilt. Sometimes a rotary map that revolves is kind of handy.
So a nice perfectly square quilt top ready for binding.
