You've got your quilt top all sewn together. The next thing you want to do is add your borders. To get the most accurate measurement, you're going to measure the middle of your quilt. Actually, you're going to be going this way for these borders. And we've already put on our top border, and now we're about to put on our bottom border.
When you attach borders, it's important to know that you're going to do them on opposite sides, top and bottom first then the sides. So what we want to do is right sides together. If I were a beginner, I would pin my border. I would do a lot of pinning. It just keeps the fabric in place. It just helps you. Once you've got your border pinned to your quilt top, you take it over to your sewing machine and start sewing.
We're done with the second border. Your next step would be to take it over to your ironing board and press the seam. We're going to finger press it for right now. Then you would want to measure your top down the center again which we've already done.
Then you would proceed to add the third and fourth borders. That's a pretty easy way to attach borders to your quilt.
