Hi, my name is Patrick Weisel, and I'm a landscape professional in New York City. I wasn't always a New Yorker. I was born on a strawberry farm and spent the rest of my childhood on the family nursery in southern Missouri. I came to New York City as a graphic designer and an artist at a time when landscape, plants and parks were, sort of, at a low point in New York City. Since my arrival here though, in the last 20 years, New York City has become a great place for landscape and for parks and for landscape professionals. After a career as a graphic designer, I decided to change careers and went back to school to get a Master of Landscape Architecture Degree. Since then, I've been working on landscapes throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
My favorite thing about landscape design and landscaping, in general, is that you get to combine your love of plants along with your design sense or love of color, texture, and size. I really love making living paintings that the citizens of New York City get to enjoy, especially when we bring back some of the older buildings that need a little help and turn them into the former grandeur that they once had. What I really love about a landscape, as opposed to wilderness, is that it's the intersection of nature and people. I'm here today to help people like you and people, in general, learn more about plants and how to make quality landscapes.
