What Is Social Phobia?

Social phobia is a very common form of anxiety. Some of the symptoms of social phobia include having difficulty doing things in public. For instance, a child with social phobia may have difficulty speaking to their parent while they're in a department store. They may have trouble ordering food at a restaurant. They'll have trouble speaking or interacting with peers in public, even if it's an activity that they really enjoy. If social phobia goes untreated, an individual can have problems well though their teenage and adult years. Social phobia is an easy to treat anxiety disorder, usually though behavioral interventions and medications. While there many different facets to discuss regarding social phobia, these are some of the key concepts to understand this anxiety disorder.
