What Is Panchakarma in Ayurvedic Massage?

Panchakarma is the cleansing system from India that's designed to detoxify as well as rejuvenate the body and mind and spirit. Panchakarma is rooted in the science of Ayurveda and is related to integrating our unique constitutions with our collective consciousness.

The root cause of, according to Ayurveda, the root cause of disease is toxins; ama. Panchakarma aims to remove excess and remove toxins from the body and also to clear and calm the mind, in order for the natural soul's resonance to shine through and to emerge.

It's also understood in Ayurveda that cause of disease comes from misidentification of the self. In that when we can see that we are not just physical but that we are much larger and we are more than our physical bodies, then we can have right perception of understanding the nature of our spirits.

Panchakarma not only aims to cleanse the physical body of toxins, but cleanses the mind in order to have right seeing. And that is Panchakarma.
