So why do men lie?
Usually, the number one reason why most people lie is fear. Might be fear of hurting your feelings. Might be fear of rejection. Might be the fear or avoidance of confrontation. One of the main reasons why men lie is fear.
Now another thing that men do, it's easier to get forgiveness than permission. Let me repeat that, it's easier to get forgiveness than permission. So sometimes they might lie about an activity they're doing, because it's easier to get forgiveness than your permission to go do it.
Let's differentiate between a white lie, and something serious. OK? Now a white lie is just because he might not want to hurt your feelings. Or he might want to go do an activity with his friends and doesn't want you to know about it. It's not going to hurt the relationship.
A true lie that effects the relationship is something more serious to look at. And truly, a man's integrity is based on his ability to be authentic and honest all the time.
Just recognize that sometimes we might lie just because like I said, we don't want to hurt your feelings. So let's say he wants to hang out with his buddies after work. OK? But he knows that you're going to get upset, so he might tell you he's working late.
Now he comes home, and you find out that he was out with his guys. Like I said before, it's easier to get your forgiveness than your permission to be able to hang out.
