How to Make Black Cake Frosting from Chocolate

Hi, I'm Katie. And today I'm going to show you how to make black frosting out of chocolate. So all I have here is chocolate frosting, chocolate butter cream, that I've already made. The way I do that either is with melted chocolate or cocoa powder, depending on your recipe that you love. But you can see, it's already, I'm starting with kind of a medium brown and I'm really looking for black, for whatever reason. Whether it's Halloween, whether you want to pipe outlines. All I'm going to do is, I'm using gel colors. It's really important only because if I try to add so much liquid color to my frosting, it's really going to thin it out. So the best thing you can do is buy black gel frosting color and just add a good amount of it to your already dark brown chocolate frosting. And just give it a good stir. And you're just going to keep adding until you hit that black that you're looking for. So there you go. I've stirred in my food coloring and I have a great black frosting ready to go. So easy and it's perfect.
