It's time for ice-cream, so we're going to start out with a nude that has a lot of tan to it and it's very opaque. Then I'm going to take a darker taupe and go in a do like the waffle lines, so here I go. You don't have to go all the way up the nail, because we're going to be adding ice-cream at the tip. Our base color is a creamy tan. It's just a creamy nude. So you just want to go and make diagonal lines one way and then follow them up with diagonal lines the other way. Leaving plenty of space in between, so that waffle pattern really shines through.
Mostly I'm inspired by fine art or architecture. I do love doing pop art and pop, very graphic things, mostly geometric. I'd say my biggest influences are Egyptian art and Deco. So as you can see, I'm only doing about three-quarters of the nail, so I have plenty of space to add my color at the top. Of course, it will overlap a little but there's no reason to paint the whole nail, if you're not going to need it. So in order to get the texture of the waffle cone, I did line's crisscrossing on a diagonal, sort of like a weave. So I went over the tan nude with an even darker taupe neutral.
