So now we've finished our basic designs on three nails and for the last nail I want to do another classic tattoo, the nautical star. This one's a bit tougher, but let's see. Let's see how it turns out. So to do this I'm going to face it towards you guys, but I start by making a dot right in the center where this star will be. And of course, I make it difficult on myself and choose the smallest nail on my hand. Because you know, I like to torture myself.
This one really helps to look at something. Look at a picture of it, especially if you haven't done it before. And you should always practice on a piece of paper before you start. That always helps. Okay, so I have my five dots, and then in between each of those, I'm going to go in and add a little bit of meat, so another dot. These are kind of like my basic markers on how this is going to lay out, a little blue print. And then kind of just go in and connect the dots.
As you're going around if you don't think the dots are in the right place, just kind of go ahead and lay the lines wherever you think they should go, whatever looks right. Okay, so we have your basic outline of the star right there, with a little dot in the middle. And then from that dot, draw little lines out. One, two, three, four, five and then in between each of the little legs on the star you want to draw another line from the middle of the star out to the very far point right down the middle.
And these don't have to super dark. They can just be guides for right now, because we're going to go back in and color in each side black. Okay, so I have very faint lines in there. That's because I'm going to go back in and color in each side. So the nautical star has in each one of these little sections I have half of it colored in black and each half should be colored in black on the same side. So we're going to go ahead and just color in. And then just go around, once you have those halves colored in, you go around and kind of clean up.
I think that's pretty good. So then you have some classic tattoo nail art here for you with the nautical star included. And just when you're using these pens, you want to cover it up with a really nice top coat, because it definitely won't stay on without a top coat. It'll wash off right away.
