All right, guys. Now we're going to shadow box with weights. After you've been shadowboxing for a while, obviously you want to work on your endurance and your speed, power, etc. So now we're going to make this just a little harder by grabbing our dumbbells. So right now I've got my 2.5's. Now an important note is obviously, you always want to bring your hands back, but make sure obviously, that this weight doesn't come all the way back to your chest. It's going to hurt and you're going to have a very bad day.
Now the first thing you're going to do, just get right back into your stance and just keep moving, stay moving. This is just a good drill to keep your arms up. Obviously, the heavier the weight, the more challenging it is. The longer you can do it, the better. Once you don't have any more weights, then it should make your life a lot easier. So just leave them up, stay there and move around, shadowbox, the way you're going to do and then lets start with five punches. Flip, flip, flip, flip, flip, flip.
I like the dumbbells because you can really see the flip over, which is really important to make sure these two knuckles are getting in there. Punch, punch, punch, right from here, same thing. Uppercut, uppercut, uppercut, flip it, flip it, flip it. You can go with the hooks. Hook, hook, hook making sure your elbows coming right back down. You can see the dumbbell coming back. It's not here, all right? It's not down here. You can really see it. Make sure that those hands come and stay up. Hook, hook, and continue moving.
Now obviously, as you get stronger you do a little heavier and then right from here, now you could also work on making sure your arms stay up and start kicking, and your hand comes right back up, keep working on those shoulders. Switch, keep working on those arms. Now we can go a little heavier and in between our shadowboxing, just stay here and do the same thing over, and maybe with a little bit of lunge and kick, and kick, and kick. Switch, lunge,kick, and kick, and kick, and get back to your shadowboxing. And that's how you shadowbox with weights and kickboxing.
