All right, guys. I'm going to show you the fundamentals of an ankle lock, the mechanics of it before we get into any moves. So my partner's going to be here. I want my partner to turn your head towards--yes. So what I'm going to do is the way to practice the ankle lock, the best way to practice it standing up.
So here I'm going to grab. I want it deep in my armpit. A mistake a lot of people make is instead of grabbing here like a guillotine, they go with their palm down. So I want to have that guillotine grip on his ankle. I'm going to grab my other hand and I'm going to arch back. See? A lot of times how you're going to know if you're getting it right is what the guy's going to do to relieve the pain is he's going to lift his hip up.
Yeah, that's how you know if you're getting it right. If it doesn't hurt, he's not going to move. If it hurts, yes, he wants to hip up to relieve that pressure. Now you're going to roll, you're going to pinch your elbow to your side, and you're going to roll your shoulder back, and that's how you're going to get your foot. That's how you're going to do a basic ankle lock.
