Okay, guys. I'm Pauline Mitchell and here's another amazing Plyometric movement pattern that I'm going to take you through that is called the side jump.
I'm also going to incorporate skier type movements and the reason why is tennis players, skiers, any athlete or sports that you can move laterally, this is going to be great for.
So, what you're going to do is, you're going to start in this position, down. So, again, what I want you to do is take your abs to navel, push it to your spine and this going to be your starting point. Again, loading your glut, ham, your posterior chain, back straight. Okay?
So, then, from here, I'm going to take your foot back and step to the side. I'm just going to walk it. Step. Okay? My abs are engaged, quads engaged, and I'm going to pick it up. Okay. Now, what you can also do, is if you don't have really good balance, you can touch that foot down on the backside, but I'm pretty advanced so I'm going to take this, pushing off my toe on that other foot. So, again, speed, power, and, of course, balance and strength. So, again, this is actually a really explosive movement. Okay?
And that's how you do the side lateral jump.
