So you have those white paper napkins that you use, and you want to do something a little bit more fancy with them. We're going to make a paper swan.
So we're going to start off with your paper napkin, and those ruffly edges could be towards you. And we're going to fold it in half. You're going to give it a good crease, because this you want some really nice crisp edges. You're going to reopen it, and then you're going to fold down these triangles on the left and the right. It's going to look like a kite shape.
And then you're going to flip it over. And then you're also going to turn these angles in to the center on the left and the right.
Then you're going to take the tip, which is going to be the nose of the swan, and you're going to bring it back about halfway through. So the point should touch the base.
And then to create the neck, you're going to, I would say about one-and-a-half inches up, you're going to fold the beak down.
And what you're going to do is you're going to fold it down in the middle for that center line. And you'll see that the back tail feathers are coming up. You give it a good crease. And then you're going to pull and extend the neck up. And you're going to give the beak a little bit of a raise up.
And you're going to want to create a base with the feathers, because it's not going to sit upright on the dish. So what you're going to do is you're going to take this point here and you're going to fold it up. It's going to be an oblong triangle. I'm going to do it to either side.
Then you're going to prop it up. Now you'll have a nice base to rest your swan on. And there you have it.
This is how you fold a paper napkin swan.
