It retains more moisture, it retains heat so that you get a very good lift in your beard, and it softens the beard. It's very important that you take care of this brush. This brush will actually last you 10 to 15 years, if you take care of it properly. There's different types of badger hair brushes.

You have the regular badger hair which is about a two to four year brush, and then you have a fine badger, which will lasts you six to eight. A silver-tip is the most sought after. It's actually the hair that goes from here to here on a badger. This brush if you maintain it and keep it clean, will last you 10 to 15 years. After shaving you want to make sure you turn on the hot water. You run the brush through the water to get out all the shavings. Never pull the brushes, because you'll be pulling the hair out.

This is absolutely what you should not do. What you want to do is clean the brush lightly. Get all the soap, very easy to do. After every shave you should do this. Dry it off, never take your badger hair brush and lean it like this. What happens when you do it the bacteria settles into the hairs and it'll stay there. You always hang your brush upside down. This one has a magnet. It sits there and you leave it there. That's how you take care of your brush.
