Hi. I'm Jennifer Durbin, and I've got some tips for you on eating out at a restaurant with your little one.
Whether you're traveling or just going to the restaurant down the street, there are a few things to keep in mind before you take that step out the door.
First of all, if you're going to a restaurant that doesn't usually serve kids, they might not have high chairs. So in a pinch, you can use your stroller as a high chair. Just wheel it up to the side of the table.
Always have one of these great travel booster seats with you, because they can be tied right to any chair. Super handy.
You'll also want to have a high chair cover, because high chairs are pretty dirty. You don't want your little one touching them.
When it's time to sit down and eat, make sure the first thing you do is clear the table of anything little arms can reach, because they can make quite a mess.
Put down your Table Topper. And one little trick is to wrap it over the end of the table so you don't have any messes.
After you've done that, all you need to do is take out your snacks, or give the baby a bite of the bread that they've served at the table. Another great secret is to find a restaurant that serves bread before the meal. Very helpful.
You'll also want to have some entertainment for your little one while they're waiting for the food or when they finish eating, so bring some toys. Grab your Cleanimals, make a little wallet for the baby to play with while you're sitting at the table, or pull their favorite toy out of your diaper bag.
Most importantly, just relax and enjoy the meal. You might have a few hiccups here and there, but everyone will have a great time.
At the end of the meal when it's time to clean up, make sure you get everything the baby has left on the table and on the floor. You can wrap it up in your Table Topper or grab a handy Ziploc bag and throw all your wrappers in that, and you're good to go.
Enjoy your dinner.
