Hi. I'm Jennifer Durbin, and I'm going to help you prepare to travel without your baby.

We all spend a lot of time thinking about what we need to do to prep our baby for travel, but do you spend any time thinking about what you're going to do when you're traveling without your baby?

So for instance, if you're traveling but still nursing, and leaving the baby at home, there are a lot of logistics you need to think through.

You'll want to have an electric pump with you. You'll want to have a hands-free bustier so that you don't have to hold the pump while you're traveling.

Then you'll also want to do things like bring your Hooter Hider; something you might not think of. That's a great way to cover yourself if you have to pump at an air terminal when you're in an airport.

The other things you want to think about are what you want to leave at home and what you want to take with you. There are two important lists that you need to make before you're traveling without your baby. One is the list of things to leave behind. The other is a list of things to take with you.

You want to prepare your sitter with all the information they're going to need while you're gone. What is the baby's normal routine? What is their daily schedule? Their eating schedule? Their sleep schedule? Things like that.

Also make sure you leave behind the pediatrician's contact number, a list of local hospitals or poison control, as well as a medical release form and the baby's insurance card. Just in case something happens, they'll be prepared, and make sure they know where you're going and how to get in touch with you.

Things that you want to take with you are all of the sitter's contact information. Name, phone number, things like that, so that you can contact them should you need them.

Also take a current picture of your baby. This is great to keep you close to the baby because you'll definitely be missing them, and then you'll also have one handy should you ever need it.

So relax, and enjoy your trip. Traveling without your baby is tough because you'll miss them like crazy, but with a little prep work it'll be super easy.
