Hi. I'm Jennifer Durbin, and I've got some great tips for you on changing your baby's diaper on a plane.
Changing a baby's diaper is never fun, let alone in a bathroom the size of a Port-A-Potty; but if you do a few things to prep yourself before this adventure, it's super easy.
So before you leave your seat to go and change the baby, make sure you double check to see if you're going to need a change of clothes too. You don't want to get stuck in an airplane bathroom with no clean clothes to put back on the baby. Now there's no problem walking back to the seat with a baby just in a diaper, but it's easier if you have the change of clothes with you.
You'll also want to have a Ziploc bag. Take a gallon-size bag with you so you can put the dirty clothes in it, so you're not carrying those back to the seat as well.
Now before you go to change the baby, you want to make sure you're only taking what you need, because again, you're not going to have any space to spare. So take a diaper, a pack of wipes, and a changing pad. Leave the diaper bag behind. You don't want to be fumbling around with that in the bathroom.
You'll find that the changing table usually folds down on top of the toilet, which does give you a good bit of space. It's right next to the sink, so that makes washing your hands much easier.
So with these few easy tips, you'll find that it's really not as difficult as you might think to change your baby in an airplane bathroom.
