Hi. I'm Jennifer Durbin, and I've got some tips on how to keep your baby happy in a car seat. And these are some universal tips, because you want to keep your baby happy in the car seat, whether you're on a road trip, on an airplane, or just tooling around town. So here are a few things you can do.
Make sure your baby is comfortable. If the weather is cold, get yourself a BundleMe. That will cover up the baby, keep them nice and cozy inside their car seat. Make sure their pacifiers are easy to reach. Put a little Pully Pal on your infant carrier, and they'll be good to go.
Now, while you're in the car, if you're taking a long trip and your baby is getting antsy, consider sitting in the back seat. If you're travelling with another adult, one of you can sit in the back seat for an hour or so, and play with the baby. That can really lighten the mood.
Make sure you also have music. You may want to get a little toy that makes music, that the baby can hold, or you may want to get a personalized CD that you can play on the car stereo. Either way, it's nice to have some background music.
Also make sure you have toys handy. If there's something you can hand the baby that they can play with, or use as a teething ring, it will keep them occupied for quite some time.
Enjoy your car ride.
