Hi. I'm Jennifer Durbin, and I've got some tips for you for finding a pediatrician when you're traveling with your little one. You've got a great doctor at home who you've become to rely on for anything. You can call them if there's a bump or bruise you have a question about or anything along those lines.
But when you're traveling, what do you do? If you're traveling to see family or friends you can often rely on there recommendations, but if you're not lucky enough to know someone locally, search Yelp. That is a great resource for finding highly recommended doctors wherever you're traveling.
You'll also want to spend some time before you go searching for local urgent cares or even hospitals just to have that information handy, just in case. Now if your child has any medical conditions, you want to make sure to let your pediatrician know that you'll be traveling. Take all medications you'll need with you, and even take a copy of all there prescriptions just in case you need to refill them on the road.
So don't worry. While you're traveling, there will be medical care locally, and you'll be able to find someone to take care of whatever your needs are. Just make sure you check your insurance coverage. You wouldn't want to be hit with a nasty hospital bill after you get home.
