Hi everybody. I'm Lashonna and today I'm going to teach you how to dance in heels. Now the secret to dancing in heels is to know how to stand in heels or knowing how to walk in heels.
So we're going to start with those basics today. You have to make sure that when you're in a pair of heels your weight is forward and not back because when your weight's on the heel it makes you become a little unstable so you want to stay up, up, up nice and tall on your tippy toes. The key word tippy toe is why they call walking in heels tipping or pumping in your pumps. So the first thing to do to dance in heels is to tip, pump, walk in your heels. Let's try that. Weight forward on your tippy toes stepping forward, one, two, three, four, okay? Let's just try those four steps. Coming forward, one, two, three, four.
Once you take those four steps forward you're going to go one, two, three, four, step out, step out. We're trying to make sure that our weight is evenly distributed so that we're balanced on the tips of our toes. Let's try those four steps in to step out and out. Ready, here we go. Tipping forward, one, two, three, four, out, out. Let's see how balanced we are by rocking side to side. Once we rock side to side we're going to just go dip down and up, down and up. Shifting our weight to our back foot and then even, back and even, taking it back and back.
So let's start again. We tip, one, two, three, four, step out, step out, rock and rock, down and up, down and up, take it back, let's start again. Tip, tip, tip, tip, step out, step out, rock, rock, down and up, down and up, take it back and take it back. Let's try it with some music a little bit up tempo, ready? Five, six, let's tip. Tip, One, rock, down and up, down and up, let's start again. Here we go, tip, step, step, rock, down and up, down and up, take it back and take it back. And now you know how to dance in heels.
