The Mediterranean Diet involves making some very basic healthy choices.

It avoids the intake of processed, high fat or high sodium foods. It really goes back to natural, healthy choices. It's all white meat, fish, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit. It allows us to take time with our meal and have a little bit of alcohol. The basics of the Mediterranean Diet involve the intake of omega-3 fatty acids or fish oils. The diet is rich in fresh fish, olive oil, and nuts and avoids foods that are high in saturated fats like red meat. There have been a lot of trials in cardiology about which is the most healthy diet for people to follow.

And in truth, the Mediterranean Diet has come out on top. The Mediterranean Diet can lead to decreased high blood pressure, lower your cholesterol and decrease rates of heart attack and stroke.
