How to Understand Heart Disease with Dr. Dennis Finkielstein
Transcript
Hi, I'm Dr. Dennis Finkielstein. I'm the deputy chief of cardiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, New York. I'm a full-time faculty member at Beth Israel, and I've been there about 10 years now. I'm an expert in a number of different cardiac conditions, but my main area of focus is noninvasive cardiac imaging.
I started my training at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and then completed the remainder in Manhattan. Practicing cardiology on the lower side of Manhattan is very rewarding. We get to treat a lot of people with various types of heart disease and help make their lives better. In addition to seeing patients and performing various types of cardiac testing, I'm also the program director of our cardiovascular diseases fellowship program in cardiology. This is one of my favorite things as I have a large role in helping train the next generation of cardiologists.
If you want to find out more about me or the cardiology services we provide at Beth Israel Medical Center, please feel free to visit us at our website bethisraelheartinstitute.org.
And now I'm going to talk to you about the various types of heart disease and how we can keep ourselves heart healthy.
