To walk while hula hooping, you're going to start obviously, with your basic hula hooping around your waist. And then you should start to practice shifting your weight from one foot to the other. Practice hooping on your left foot, switching to your right foot. You don't have to hold it quite as long as I'm doing. You can just practice doing one and the other. And that will get your comfortable shifting your weight, and hooping on both feet.
Then you want to practice turning a small circle. You can take really small, little steps to start, until you get comfortable. And then, you'll want to start walking around in a circle around yourself. Notice that I'm still pushing with my hip forward every time that I take a step. So, push, push. And you can take little baby steps to start.
Once you're comfortable going around in a circle, then I would suggest trying to walk a straight line. So, if we're going to walk from one side of the room to the other, start with your waist hooping. Take a couple of steps or take one step. See how long you can hold your hooping there. Take another step. Do a couple more rotations.
Once you get more comfortable, you'll be able to start taking steps more quickly. So, if I go back in this direction, you can take a step in between every rotation.
And that's how to walk while hula hooping.
