All right, guys. Today we’re going to be making the Alabama Slammer, one of your favorite shots from down South.
What we’re going to do is we’re going to start with our shot glass right here. A one-ounce, one-and-a-half-ounce shot glass, depending on how much you feel like drinking on a particular day. We’ve got our handy dandy shaker.
We’re going to throw a little ice in our shaker here to get things started because if there’s one thing you need to have, it’s a cold shot. What we’re going to do is we’re going to use three ingredients for this shot. We’re going to use Southern Comfort, we’re going to use Jeremiah Weed’s Sweet Tea. and a little bit of cranberry juice. Together we get our favorite, Alabama Slammer.
So what we’re going to do, we’re going to pour, generally we want to say three-quarters of an ounce but if you have your own bar setup like this, then I guess you can kind of play it by ear. It’s going to be about one count. Jeremiah Weed, that was the first one there.
Our second one’s going to be our Southern Comfort. Same thing, about a count. I’m going to use just a little bit, a splash of cranberry juice. Next thing we’re going to take a mixing glass and we’re going to chill down our shot. So a few shakes.
Be sure you actually keep that shut. Otherwise you’re going to have drink all over here and nobody wants to waste alcohol. So kind of break the seal off of that just by tapping on the side of your bar. And you’re going to strain it. Some of you might have a little strainer at home. That’s also fine to use.
You can just kind of put a little pour spout on that and pour into your shot glass. But for those of us who are experts in this one, we’re going to pour it as you’ll see fit. And then comes the fun part. You get to drink your shot. So enjoy your Alabama Slammer and roll tide, roll.
