Hi, my name is Shane Paul Neil from Stay Coach Multisport. And today we're talking about three tips for running a better 60 meter dash.
My first tip would be to get acclimated with starting blocks. While they're best left to more experienced sprinter, they're completely unavoidable in the 60. Guided levers they give you in order to have an explosive start. It will make or break your race if you don't have them verses somebody who does. My second tip is to work with weighted sleds, or parachutes in your training. The added resistance will help increase your explosiveness, and your overall speed.
My finally tip to you is to hit the gym. Weight training is very key for a racer sure to 60. A; for your explosiveness in power; and B; to avoid injury. The velocity and explosiveness of the 60 lends itself very much to pulled hamstrings, torn muscles, and other injuries. In a race that often has multiple heats you want to make sure that you're as healthy as possible to avoid injury.
Those are my three tips for running a 60 meter dash.
