Hi, I'm Faye de Muyshondt from social skills. Here to work with you on how to handle making mistakes at work and at school. First things first, it's really important to own up to mistakes, rather than the just evade them or try and skirt the issue, own your mistakes. So if you make a mistake, first things first, apologize. Apologize for the mistake that you made and discuss it, discuss the mistake that you made really own it, address the elephant in the room. Make sure that you own your mistake. So, acknowledge it and you might want to apologize for the mistake as well.
Also, at the same time offer up things that you can do to change things that you can do to make the situation better, and most importantly, you want to be sure that you're not blaming someone else for your mistake. That's probably the worst thing that can happen. So again, own your mistake, verbalize what you've done wrong, offer a few things that you can do to change the situation, offer a few things that you can do better in the future and move forward, don't be labor over a mistake, don't be labor over something that you've done wrong. Own it, acknowledge it, offer things that you can do to change and then, move on. So, own your mistakes, take responsibility and move forward. Those are just a few steps on how to handle a mistake.
