Hi. I'm Alex Fell from Warrior Fitness Boot Camp, New York City. Today I'm going to show you how to step over a hurdle. Stepping over a hurdle is the first phase of learning how to jump over a hurdle. Okay. Now if you have hurdles at your disposal, if you're here in New York City and you come to our class, we start out by having you step over the hurdle to get yourself acquainted with being on the obstacle course.
The hurdle is one of the first obstacles on that obstacle course. Now all you're going to do is you're going to approach the obstacle just as you would any other obstacle. And all you're going to do is you're going to place one leg over the top. Steady. Put both hands on it. Keep your core nice and tight. Lift your leg up over the top onto the other side, and stay nice and steady. You can practice this going back and forth, alternating your legs to get that movement of both legs, of both hips, and the balance that it takes to get up over it. Do multiple repetitions until you feel nice and comfortable to move onto the next phase of doing this obstacle.
