Some tips that we'll give to small players, are one you want to have, very good ball handling skills so it'll allow you to get anyone on the court that you want. You want to be able to master ball handling, fundamental ball handling skills, fingertip control, because as a small guy, if you can get anywhere on the court with the basketball that you want, that'll make you an asset to your team.
Secondly, you want to work on becoming as good a shooter as you can possibly be, because then that will give you an advantage to be able to score anywhere on the court. You don't want to be a small guy, and can't shoot the basketball, because now you're limiting your ability to help your team offensively. So if you can work on becoming a good shooter, from short-range, mid-range, and long-range, that will also enable you to be more of an asset to your team.
Then finally basketball IQ. The shorter you are you want to have a high basketball IQ, because that will enable you to out think other opponents on the court. You want to be your teams quarterback, you want to be able to out think anybody on the court, you want to be able to understand coach's strategies. So now when you're on the court you can be an extension of your coach.
So those three things again for small players, you want to be a great ball handler, a very good shooter and have a high basketball IQ.
