Hey guys, we're going to talk about turning from backwards to forwards. So when you're doing any type of turn when you're changing your body direction you really need to incorporate the Mohawk turn. So when you're doing a forward to backward, we talked about opening your hips, keeping your hips square and then closing. It's the same thing going from backwards to forwards.
This one you're going to weight transfer everything to your right foot, we're going to open our left foot. When we get to the forward direction with our left our back foot, our right, is going to turn slightly and then push. So, it's kind of like you're cheating a little bit by turning your back foot forward and slightly and then pushing so that you can continue to maintain control. With this, you need to make sure that you check your core as well.
So once you turn you got to make sure that your core locks so that you don't continue to turn the direction that you're going. Keep everything under control, no noodles out there because we don't want you splashing around. So here's what we look like from backwards to forwards. [music] So really important to keep your knees bent and good luck skating backwards to forwards.
