Hey guys, Gypsy with the Skate Truck NYC. We're going to talk a little bit about how to pick your inline street skates. So, there's a lot of different options out there on the market for inline skating, just depends on what you want to do and also where you live. If you're going to go into speed skating and you want to do more fitness skating, you would go with something that is like this, a much sleeker model that is giving you great support, as well as agility and responsiveness.
This fits really really snug, so you really need to be able to try it on wherever you're going to go. It's got bigger wheels on there so it goes a lot faster. This is what a speed skate looks like. And it's also used for fitness skating inside parks. These are recreational skates and these are used around parks and street skating as well. You'll notice that they have smaller wheels on there. So that's better for agility, not so much for fast movements, but being able to stop quickly and move faster. It also comes with brakes on the back.
These guys, it's taller up so it gives you more stability around the ankle as well. Most of them will come with buckles, so that way you're really firm inside there, and a lot of cushion inside the skate. You can find fitness skates pretty much at any fitness store such as Models, Paragon Sports, things like that. And then with speed skates, you need to find your local skating rink, or look online for those guys. And always make sure that you have the protective gear as well: Elbows, wrist guards, knee pads, helmets are really important. And you can find those at any shop where you're going for your inline skates as well.
