Hey, guys. Gypsy from the Skate Truck NYC. Today we're going to talk about street skating tips for inline skates. Whenever you're rollerblading around the streets or the park, you want to make sure first of all that you skate within your means. And don't skate in areas where, if you have to stop quickly and you're not very good at it yet, just try to avoid those until you can get some practice time in. Always when you're street skating, be aware of your surroundings. If you are on the street, make sure you know that taxi cabs, pedestrians, dogs, they are all unpredictable. And always be aware of where they're going, and make sure you can stop in time without running them over.
Make sure you keep your head on a swivel, turning side to side, seeing everything that's around you. And also make sure you wear protective gear. You've got your helmet, your wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads. Those are really important to save some of your skin if something bad does happen. Make sure you try to avoid anything that is rocky, any sticks, any children, whatever you need to do, and especially the skate-eating grates, because they do sneak up on you at times. Whenever you're going through an area that is rough, just remember to stay low and try to just roll through it or step over it if you can.
