Learn how to do a belly down arm lock MMA submission from Team Radical MMA head coach Rene Dreifuss in this Howcast video.
All right guys, we are going to do an inverted arm lock from the turtle. Chad is going to try and take me down, but I’m going to defend and hit him with an arm lock. It looks like this. He’s trying to take me down. Sprawl. Rotate around. Let’s break that down. First, I hit the sprawl. I wait until both arms clear, and then I rotate around to the side, putting my arm here, controlling him this way. Now, Chad’s arms are going probably be in like this, I’m punching him, it’s straight through, he’s defending his chokes. So, what I’m going to do, I want to make space here.
I want this space right here open, so I’m going to cross-face it this way. When I cross-face him, there’s that space, stick my foot in. I peel his wrist back, keeping his wrist against my ankle. I like to keep my hand here, now I cross my feet. Again, keeping his wrist by my ankle. Now, my hips do the work. I drive my hips down as the legs come up. Here, take down, leg comes up. Do that one more time. And that’s the inverted arm lock from the turtle position.
