Learn how to do a triangle choke from side control against a wrestler's pin from Team Radical MMA head coach Rene Dreifuss in this Howcast video.
All right guys, we are going to do another really sneaky triangle. This is from when you are on the bottom and you get pinned in a way that a lot of wrestler’s or sometimes judo guys like to pin you. Mostly it’s wrestlers, because obviously there’s no submission in wrestling, but every now and then a judo guy will do it to you, because they really want to grab, the way they are going to grab in a judo uniform, and it’s a really good segue into a triangle. So, force here, Chad, I don’t want to get pinned inside, I don’t want to be here.
But Chad grabs me like this, between my legs, and this is a very powerful pin for him if it’s just wrestling. It makes my hips get stuck, but what I’m going to do is, I’m going to take my hand, and watch what I do. One more time, guys. I’ll explain in detail. He put his hand in this pin, between my legs. This is not so good. Start pushing his head down, bring my leg over his neck, come up, flex your instep this way. Flex, push down, and squeeze. If I don’t get it, I’m going to go here right on his arm, do this, or I could do that inverted arm lock that we did before, just like that. Even still, I can come here and do a Kimora. Also, I could just start escaping, coming back to here, get a regular triangle.
Okay? So, this is when you get pinned. Of course, you don’t want to get pinned, but if he puts his leg between your arms, it’s a great place to start that reverse triangle or triangle from the bottom. One more time. Here, push the head, leg comes over, here, squeeze. The trick is to get the leg over the neck. Over the neck, not here. Nothing. Watch. Over the neck here. Squeeze, and then I start attacking his arm, attacking his arm, attacking his arm. I can also sometimes roll him this way as well. All right? That’s the triangle when you’re caught in the wrestler’s pin.
