Learn about competitive skateboarder Nate Cohen, one of Howcast's skateboarding experts, in this video.

Transcript

Hi, my name is Nate Cohen. I've been skateboarding for about 12 years now. I grew up in the West Village of Manhattan, and I love to skate.

It's always a way for me to release some negative energy. It's a great way to get out of the house, exercise a little bit.

I'm really passionate about skateboarding because it gave me a way to find myself in this world.

It's something that I love to do because it's just so freeing. Any time I'm having trouble in my life I can always hop on my board. I know it's going to be there for me.

If you want to get more into skateboarding, skateboarding will always be there for you. It's just something that's fun to do. And that's why I've been teaching skateboarding with Nike, Roll America, and Sure Skateboards for the last 3 or 4 years.

It's something that's easily accessible, and it's always good to see the joy of others, knowing that they're experiencing something that I experienced once before.

It's a great joy. It's something fun. It's something I'm really passionate about.

I'd like you to check out Nate's Lucky Day on YouTube. Check out Bustin Boards over here. And maybe go check out Uncle Funky's, and Fresh Paved Magazine, that's a little publication I have. It's New York City skateboarding and long boarding lifestyle. It's something that's easy for you to get in touch with.

If you want to come into the City and you want to check out a shop, check out Bustin, check out Uncle Funky's.

I hope the viewers of this series now feel empowered to go out there and try and have some fun themselves. Just be safe, be smart, and skate and have fun.
