People ask me all the time what are the best ways of getting rid of acne scars?
I've got two suggestions for you. Number one, lots of exfoliation. I don't like it when people use lots of retinols and Retin A in general. I'm not talking about that type of exfoliation. But a great scrub. Something with lactic acid in it, or enzymes in it, are really great for the skin. They're not too harsh, but you're going to really be stimulating a regular exfoliation; a regular cell turnover. Which will cause collagen production. Collagen production is what you want, because you want all of that scarring to go away.
My other suggestion is an in salon treatment. It's something called LED light therapy. LED light therapy gives energy to living cells and it triggers the body's own immune system. But what it also does is build collagen in quantifiable percentages. It's going to get rid of acne scars over time. If you couple that with doing your exfoliation at home, you could get rid of the acne scars, even severe ones, in as little as six months time.
I love both of those suggestions because they're non invasive. Anybody can do them. Even a young person can do them and there's no side effects whatsoever. Those are my two best suggestions for getting rid of acne scars.
