People ask me a lot about acne laser treatments. Frankly, I'm not a real big fan of them.
This is how they work. A laser is shot at your face to ablade the surface of the skin or burn the surface of the skin in order to stimulate collagen production and also the body's natural healing functions. That way you're kind of tricking the body into healing up the acne in a quick way.
The problem with that is that you're not really getting to the bottom of what's making you breakout to begin with. So if you have acne and you're considering laser, laser is just going to be a Band Aid to the problem. It's not going to get to the cause of what caused you to breakout to begin with and that's where I like to treat people from.
So you have to look at diet, you have to look at what products you're using on your skin and what are your grooming habits at home. Are you washing your face before every night? It's those simple solutions that really get at the root of an acne problem whereas laser doesn't really address any of that.
Will it work in the short term? It will. But the acne is going to come back and I don't think that's going to make anybody happy.
I hope that helps with your decision.
