Best DIY Lip Scrub

Learn how to make a great homemade lip scrub from licensed esthetician Joanna Vargas in this Howcast video.

I think do it yourself ingredients are amazing and when you make masks and treatments, nothing feels better. So this one is called a do it yourself lip scrub. This is one of my favorite things to do. It's a tablespoon of brown sugar. Brown sugar, not white sugar. Brown sugar is really really soft if you've never worked with it before. And it's just right for the gentle skin on your lips. You wanna mix that with coconut, which is an anti-inflammatory ingredient and it also restores the lipid layer to the skin, the moisture content in the skin with all of those fatty acids. And you wanna add to that one tablespoon of honey.

Honey is actually really great because it moisturizes the skin. So those three things you wanna mix together in a bowl. And take about five minutes to really scrub your lips. Do all along even the outside of your mouth because if you exfoliate well, even on the outside of the mouth, your lipstick won't bleed. It won't run into your skin when you wear it. Which I mean who wouldn't want to fix that problem. So, do that for about five minutes. You wanna do it maybe once a week. A scrub like that you can keep in the fridge if you wanna make a little bit of extra. It'll sit for about two weeks and then you should just throw it away and make more. Making it is almost as fun as using it and your lips are gonna really be beautiful as a result.
