I have met a ton of brides over the years at my salon and I get asked all the time, how can I prepare for my wedding day? I always tell brides one thing. After the big party is over and you've been married for ten or 20 years, all you're going to have left are your photographs and your memories. And you want to make sure you look good on your special day.
What I recommend is the second you get engaged you want to step up your routine. You want to really start taking care of yourself better. Not just so that you're so skinny for the pictures or whatever nonsense women start to think about when they get engaged, but really so that your skin will look beautiful. So that you'll feel health and you'll feel good about yourself. You want to feel confident.
So I would recommend start getting monthly facials and start really taking care of your skin at home. Exfoliate twice a week. Wash your face before bed. Use natural products on your skin instead of products that contain harsh chemicals or ingredients that are bad for you. And then as the wedding gets closer, let's say three months away, you want to try to step up your routine a little bit. Maybe get facials every three weeks and start including microdermabrasion. Definitely include oxygen treatments in your routine because oxygen stimulates collagen production. It hydrates and heals the skin and it's amazing for a glowing bridal look.
The week before you get married, why don't you treat yourself to an amazing body scrub? Body scrubs will make your skin look perfect. So if you're wearing a strapless gown, the skin on your body will be perfect and when you have your first dance with your new husband your skin will feel baby soft as well.
So those are my recommendations for looking great for your wedding day and preparing for it properly. And best wishes!
