You may not be thinking about it very much yet, but you should really start preparing for your vacation sooner, instead of scrambling around at the last minute looking for products and asking for advice. At least that's what I always tell my clients here in New York.
So here are my top recommendations for preparing for vacation.
Step one. First, make sure you have all your products, and if you need to, transfer them into travel size. It really drives me crazy that clients don't bring their proper skincare products on vacation with them, and just use whatever the hotel has. It's not good for your skin. They're often not that great products to begin with, and frankly, your skin is going to want you to use the same products that you use at home, of course. So really take time for that.
Next, I would do a full body exfoliation and include your face. If you're going on a beach vacation or a ski vacation, you're going to want to make sure that your skin looks perfect the entire time. Exfoliation is going to stimulate collagen production, you're going to get rid of dead skin cells, and it's going to make your face glow for miles. So you definitely want that for your trip.
And my final recommendation is, take some product with you on the airplane so that you can hydrate as you go along. It may sound crazy but a lot of clients, when they get off the airplane, complain, "my skin looks so dry." "I look so old." "I look wrinkled." The solution to that is carry something in your purse on board that you can use to rehydrate yourself. We all know that you should drink lots of water when you're on an airplane because you feel thirsty. That's how dry it is. Well, imagine how your skin feels. So take an extra serum or an extra moisturizer and put it on mid-flight. Your skin will be so grateful that you did it.
